I remember creating account there with pseudo-name for a few years. The admin there one day gotten extremely hostile and request me to give then real biodata. I didnt even consider to contribute anything not even simple comments. Just being quiet user. I would even pay annual subscription to have the site access but not contributing like E. Britanica site. Regardless, I have been extremely detrimental to that website with maybe running a multi year hostile anti-Quora campaign across the world. Quora just made an unnecessary enemy user with me. All I wanted just like HN, probe in, read, and maybe comment a bit maybe once or twice a year. Instead their admins turn very hostile threatening to remove my account simply for not giving them real biodata.

For USA debts, it is falling. The last 3 years Fed need to buy the left over new bills unsold. In the past, 100% being sold to public and sovereign. But the last 3 years spooked US Treasury as routinely only half sold. Janet even had to fly over to China to "kowtow" to Xi to not sell but buy. It wasn't reported much in the west, but widely in the east and exceedingly humiliating if you able to read the chinese reporting. Essentially now, Fed is directly printing money to American public without going through hoops. Coincidentally the last 3 years inflation exceed way higher than 2% even though interest has been increased from 0% to 4+%.

The hardest part is being consistent and acrually using it. I have seen someone less tha. 80 IQ speaking their native language and understand the grammar better than someone with Havard degree both fluency in speaking and expressing their thoughts. The main reason is one have to use it day in day out, the other learn it as "subject" to past exam. Why so many people use babbel and resulted in not able to use the language. Spend 15mins, while native speakers spent 12hrs a day. Polyglots also use this forced immersion. Except they dont want to "brag" they learn that way. Instead just want to show how easy they learn ... naturally.

Should have started during Obama's time. Now too late. The mid -segment and low-end chips prices already cornered by the Chinese. The high-end cornered by Taiwanese. The best USA can do now is economic trade barrier on silicon - have to do it now to have a chance recovery within next 5 years before Chinese reach 2nm mass productions especially going for quantum and AI GPUs.

The irony. They took away lethal injection because it is inhumane to use it for death sentence. Ended up they prolong even more inhumane death sentence. Some action do leads to unintended consequences even if they are not government. Sourced from CNN not exactly reputable source for statistics reporting. It is like Foxnews but for left. Also, these numbers rarely get auditted. It is mostly self reporting. During time of crisis like war or inflation, numbers always "changes" drastically compare to previous year. And release of SPC sometime reported and mostly not. Artic oil and methane ice havn't come into most reporting as well.

Unfortunately, Boeing gone today won't make muchbissue other than a blip of inconvenience for maybe 3-5 years. Airbus will easily pick up the slack. What scares the western world is Russia and especially China will flourish. Take EVs, we all praise Tesla and mock slowmo Toyota, meanwhile BYD just overtook Tesla in Dec 2023 making Tesla on path to be Solyndra for Biden. I already put money to China aviation industry stocks for the long haul.

My friends based in Singapore, roughly same criteria and food living standard as you described, about 2K sgd a month or 1.5K usd after exchange rate. This doesnt factor in car, housing, schooling, recreation, utility, and medical. And food are to some extend subsidized or indirectly price controlled by government (through market intervention by state-based companies). You had it better at 1K usd. At least, you can move to somewhere rural midwest and have your own farm. To do the same in Singapore, he will have to be multi-millionaire owning multi millions USD small plot the equivalent of a poor family home land area in suburb in 2nd or 3rd tier city in America. I am sure someone similar in NY or San Fra will be even worst. Again, at least they can run to somewhere cheap.
