As a cyclist I feel this. My FIL is a cyclist in his 70s and has lots of issues with his back and shoulders because he just cycles (even to this day doing 1k km per month).

That being said he is significantly healthier than any other 70 year old I know.

I do a lot of strength training now and I feel significantly better.

+1 for Caddy absolutely goated software. Everytime I need it, it saves me hours and hours.

I wonder if it’s people gaming the system to get the certs or just that you have high expectations.

B2 should mean one is confident in most conversational situations. I’m at this level and have no issues conversing at all but make a lot of small mistakes.

With that being said, being in a meeting with a group of natives from the same region is brutal.

And learning that dialect is just something you can only do through exposure which you won’t get because nobody is going to hire someone who takes a few months to a year to be able to understand and speak like you (which is completely understandable).

I also find this frustrating. Every time I want to add an app to Github, it defaults to org wide. So far, I've managed to keep the reins on that, and nobody has made a mistake, but I am just waiting for the day someone adds something org-wide that shouldn't be.

Another rant(ish). You can request a PAT for, say, 30 days for a repo, and if you don't have access, it'll prompt an admin to approve that PAT. Okay, makes sense. But then you can refresh that same token without permission going forward.

You can get B1 with a bit of spare time. With kids, I understand it's a different situation; however, it took me about 2 years to get there, learning in my spare spare time (which after a certain point was just listening to audio books before bed). The compounding effect works.

BUUUUT, even with B2, it's just not enough for avoiding "the look", as you put it. I think you need flawless C1 or something, idk. Don't care anymore lol.

You can cold-turkey it. Know daily smokers who (temporarily) quit for multiple reasons, e.g. medical reasons, job, extended travelling.

From what I have seen, there are no side effects at all. They go back to smoking when the opportunity arises, but that's another story.

I think you can write a quick script to toggle the disable-model-invocation to turn off auto invocation.

Yeah, it's easy once you pick up the formula, but for first-time readers, it's hard. My first piece of russian literature was The Idiot, and I remember consulting the front page quite often.

There are lots of similar names, and the seemingly random use of full names, first names, last names and nicknames, throws off new readers.

There are also just a lot of characters.

I had a project a year ago that worked with lots and lots of csv files and it was just such a lifesaver. Doing a JOIN and WHERE on two (massive) csv files and getting instant results felt like magic. Saved me a lot of time on ad hoc queries. Also Claude being good with the tool is a bonus too. Easily my favourite piece of software recently.
