I had one of the affected models. I filled out the recall form yesterday, and they emailed me this morning to let me know the replacement has been sent. They are pretty good about standing behind their products
I would love to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra play the classical music in "What's Opera, Doc?" and other Looney Tunes classics. Saw them do that with The Godfather and a couple other full-length films which was great.
This reminds me of the old FedEx Zapmail service they had in the 80s. They didn't get much traction and the service was shut down after 2 years at great expense.
Worked for Whittman-Hart, which merged with USWeb. Heard Firmage wasn't part of it because of his belief in space aliens. Good to finally get the whole story.
I'm Polish-Irish-Czech, and my dad used to make poppyseed coffee cake. When I lived in Chicago, I'd often get poppyseed rolls made by local Polish bakeries. I miss those, that kind of food is hard to find around here, but at least I can get locally-made pierogi.
Any time you get a message purporting to be from the USPS saying there's a delivery problem and you need to pay a small fee to fix it, it's a scam. Block and report.
At the time, I was a punk working in a great record store in the Western suburbs of Chicago (shout out to Johnny B Goode Records & Stuff!). I sent a number of promo disco records we'd received to Disco Demolition Night. I still laugh about how it turned out... Those were the days.
Elecom makes a nice left handed trackball. Employers don't often provide ThinkPads, so I usually use a standard mouse on the left side without swapping the buttons.
I wonder what Bezos's rationale was behind hiring all these British right wingers. Does anyone believe taking the Post in that direction is really going to steer that crowd away from Fox "News"?
