This is such a dope list and most of it is what I aspire to do too (except for the photo printing part since I've never really done that :))

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North

This cleverly written sci-fi novel might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s a thought-provoking exploration of a life that repeats.

Mostly for boiler plate code/text. Also for initial research about a topic—-thereafter, I do my own probing elsewhere and also ask follow-up questions based on my findings. It's a also a great place to ask a dumb question about anything and get a "seemingly" sensible answer without having to feel that you were judged for it. All in all, it's a feel-good tool :D

>That seems strange. There should be a portal for the credit card somewhere.

Yeah, they don't. The bank seriously needs to up their game.

This needs to get on their website :)

It's quite possible that they do this for their online customers— it's a reputed bank here. I'm just using the bank's credit card and don't have a bank account with them, so I don't have access to their banking app.

Yes, I asked the caller to give me a bank number to call back, to which she replied that they don't have a dedicated line for that purpose (???) and that I had to physically go to a bank to get it done. I'll be changing banks for sure :/

Flexibility and income, yes. I am not so sure about work-life balance, which probably depends on the place/country of work.

Yes, it's precisely the long hours spent behind the screen that sparked this question. But if they're passionate about it, then why not? Passion is key in this field. Without it, the job can be depressing, regardless of the perks it offers.

I also wonder time to time about other fields that often improve with experience – the more you practice, the better you become. In contrast, software engineering requires constant adaptation to new technologies, making past experience with older technologies less relevant. Staying current in this field is a continuous challenge and not always straightforward.

What are some best practices for integration with third-party tools like warrant.dev or cerbos.dev as mentioned in the article?

Yeah. It was down last Thursday for me. Couldn't generate anything. It started working after a day but has been slow ever since. The update definitely took a toll on the performance.

I've been in tech for over a decade and started working from home post-pandemic. Living close to nature, I thought I'd be outdoors more, but no, I found myself desk-bound from dawn to dusk. It made stepping outside feel like a chore, and my breaks were often spent scrolling through reels. It didn't hit me until I started feeling down everyday—I was spiralling into some monotonous, lonely hell. To break the cycle, I scheduled daily walks. The walks, coupled with casual chats with passersby/neighbours, really lifted my spirits. It's a change I wish I'd made sooner.

Have a chill chat with him to figure out how he likes to communicate and work. Make sure he knows exactly what’s expected in his job – clear and simple works best. Touch base with HR; they might have some useful tips. Maybe tweak how you talk to him, like being more straightforward or writing things down. Regular, straightforward feedback's good too. If it's still tough, maybe find an expert for advice. Try to learn a bit about autism, as it’ll give you some insight into his actions.
