The whole point of the film was that Frank was just talented, with no dark past. His protege assumed dark times were the only true source of talent. His protege was not talented.
The reason is because most managers became managers because they didn't mind leaving tech behind. They didn't really like it. So they assume everyone else is the same as them.
Wealth creation is good. But a huge chunk of the old wealth, and a big chuck of where the newly wealthy put their loot, is in the wealth appropriation game.
