What the fuck does that matter? And no, it wasn't made today.

We all grow old. Your situation today may not be the same as tomorrow and you may find your smug self needing social security.

So many far left conspiracy theories in here, blatant false accusations, assertions and wild fallacies.

IIRC, last presidential election that was what we did in our county, voted on a machine, got a prinout, verified it, stuck it in the scanner and was done. I think I'm remembering it right?

Interesting notion, I'd never come across that before. I've seen many demos of what the Earth could look like with all the ice melted but I'm not sure any of them took what you're describing into account.

> This is where I will disagree and stand fast.

You're welcome to do that but you're wrong as far as the majority of selfhosters are concerned. Spend time on https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/ for more information about how widely people define it.

That's actually not correct at all.

> In my opinion, if your services had downtime today, you are not “self-hosting”.

Zero here.

> If you depend on anything which has “cloud” in its name, you are not “self-hosting”.

Minor dependency on OCI but no down time at all for any services I run.

That's informative, I wasn't aware of that way to view HN, thanks.

"authoritarian regimes"

It seems someone at F-Droid may have a political axe to grind with the current US presidency and the majority of the population of America who elected (1.)them.

The US Constitution's First Amendment protects religion from government. There is no amendment protecting porn or gratuitous violence. Marking the religious apps as NSFW may be a violation of the First Amendment and could potentially be challenged in court, to a potentially huge sum of money and F-Droid's potential detriment.
