I feel like it promotes younger folks getting into programming by having them follow trends instead of what they might want to do. Don't bother starting to learn, AI will take your job if you do. Vibe code up a SaaS startup and sell it! Look at levelsio, he's making millions and is an influencer!

There's even websites that are dedicated to dumping your SaaSes, like acquire.com!

Stay off social media, ignore trends, and learn the basics. JS frameworks come and go like flies, don't get too invested in the latest and greatest!

Why care about stars in the first place? Github is a repo of source repos, using it like social media is pretty silly. If I like a project, it goes into a folder in my bookmarks, that's the 'star' everyone should use. For VCs? What, are you looking to make an open source todo app into a multi million dollar B2B SaaS? VCs are the almighty gods of the world, and us humble peons do not need to lend our assistance into helping them lose money :-)

Outside of that, neat project.

UA strings, just like any other client information forwarded to the server (see: android/iOS data accessible by JS & the server) only exists to build a profile to better filter who you want to serve ads to. It's always ads. Anything else is an excuse, period.

That's what'll trigger the CF captcha as well: if you don't give up client data. Run a site on Chrome bundled with your Anroid? Never going to get captcha, since Google will gladly serve any of your data when it's asked.

A nice summary of Malibal, I suppose!

Either way, what a fun business; buy whitelabel goods and market it as 'premium'.

Wow, Gazmanov. Last heard him when I still had tapes! Looks like little changed, still nationalist music, just the same but different nation lol

That's cool and all, but when are we getting a dedicated LinkedIn key? I'm getting tired of hitting the shortcut everytime...

Not really something that requires little skill, but bug hunting is a decent income (if you burn through enough).

Otherwise, making services and seeing what sticks. There are millions of these that go unnoticed but are still going by on API fees. Or they just go nowhere :P

This is the norm, no company "pulls out" of Russia, they just hand off the whole business to a proxy company they own (directly or indirectly), that will continue to sell the same product and service. It's just for show, they still continue operations.

Yes, it should be! You are free to get upset by what I say, but at no point should the government be intervening on your behalf to punish me, unless it turns to harassment.

Simple problem, simple solution: charge the appropriate value for the flight.

If pay is the only concern, why not just take up contract work and refuse benefits to get the most pay? Ignoring the other variables at play, such as cost of living and benefits, and only focusing on pay is foolish.

Provably false. You don't even have to look far -- there is no "labour shortage," what there is a shortage of is "desperate people and suckers." That has not led to higher wages, only enough for people to bite.

If there was balance, then you'd be getting paid your labour's worth, which would never happen as that's where all the money lies. You might have a good product, but if nobody assembles it? If nobody makes the parts? If nobody makes or maintains the machines that assemble the parts? Nothing, and therefore, no value.

Feature complete, doesn't use WAN, I think you're OK unless you're on public wifi.

Always on the lookout for a Bryan, that's how I know I'm lucky that day :)

If you're downloading random files from a stranger's vague post, then I think you had it coming.

The file extension spoof fix is nice, however.

A lot of marketing emails will have opt-out links on their HTML version, but the text version they send alongside it (if it's not just auto-generated from the HTML one) doesn't. I've sent fussy emails threatening GDPR and CAN-SPAM violation only to get confused replies telling me the link is right there, in [LOCATION]. Your opt-out needs to be accessible!

Good point. Forgot about all my docker-compose files...

Aw, shoot. I thought I would be able to have fun sending coworkers:

  import os
  os.rmdir("C:\Windows\System32")

Seconding. robots.txt is just a way of "asking nicely." If somebody wants to scrape, they're spoofing their UA and ignoring it. Can't do anything other than monitor the logs and ban IPs one by one.

Yes, this is an issue self-driving cars. Roads and signage are not unchanging and always set up proper or the same way every time, everywhere, nor do they need to be.

Light control at an intersection out? They'll just blink red, indicating a stop sign. Maybe they're off, and they put up temporary stop signs on the corners, or as you mentioned, a police officer redirects traffic. And then a fire engine will run through it, as they need to.
