I used bash cgi scripts all the time. Haven’t used a python cgi module but the main benefit of perl’s cgi module (also removed) is the query parameter parsing.
its far easier to control your network than it is to control your devices on that network - far too many closed source devices nowadays, and it’s extremely difficult to avoid all of them
No mention of ptp, I’m curious how the switch handles it (and how is it connfiged from Linux)
I find understanding how Linux networking really helpful in uunderstanding mikrotiks (which I use a lot in prod, although tend to shy away from for the most critical and demanding of services)
