You still share information and work through a medium you can both understand - receipts and expense logs and invoices - that's what an HTML template is.
Programming isn't fun. Neither is doing drugs. But when you beat the machine after 10 hours of agony and get the thing to work and dollars flow into your bank account, your brain squirts feel good chemicals into your blood stream, just like drugs.

What losses? I've never heard of any equity vesting plan that lasted longer than 5 years.
As much as I hate to admit it, my first programming job included a lot of Tcl, and I think learning it taught me how to program correctly, or at least in a highly maintainable fashion - this was in Perl's heyday.
