> We have qualified women driven away from the profession because of all the unwanted attention and hurdles that come along wit being a minority at work.
This should be treated at the harassment/legal level. Not at the interview level.
We should not lower the bar for females or "diversity" hires. I'm sorry, but with all this diversity encouragement bullshit, every black or female engineer I see, I automatically assume they aren't as smart as their male counterparts and were offered a job simply because of their gender or ethnicity. A large portion of silicon valley makes this same assumption.
Just because it is sexist doesn't mean you can't say it. It is not illegal, nor should it be, to be sexist or racist.
Women underperform men in college computer science courses. Hell, you could generalize this to all engineering. Am I sexist? Maybe. Am I speaking the truth, yes.
Now if you don't want to believe raw data, that's your choice.
> A great many of Apple's customers care a lot about this kind of thing.
And an even greater many of Apple customers do not care about those things. The number one deciding factor for many people in the world is how much the monthly payment will be. Full stop.
I'll take the cheapest mode of transport available. Whether it's coal or oil or wind powered, I, and billions of other people in the world, could care less for the environment. My wallet matters more.
> wether it’s a recession after this long bull market or a politically charged murder could quickly be blamed on immigration and spread like wildfire on social media by people who love simple answers to complicated questions.
Sorry to burst your warm heart of not hurting anyone's feelings, but immigration is the cause. It will soon expand to the US and the entire "progressive" agenda will implode on itself.
> but people should maybe ask themselves if the men who use their money for sexual conquest are the kind of men we want controlling tens of billions of dollars in capital.
Yeah, I'm fine with it. Really. I honestly don't care what they do. As long as I get my fat engineering paycheck every other week. Gonna pick up a Tesla Model 3 soon.
Death march refers to a team working "or marching" on a project, usually instructed "conducted" by a manager, when everyone knows the project will fail or "die". Hence the name death march.
