It was so painful to read that I had to give up, but from experience this isn't particularly rare; these dudes are typically so busy that they're hammering out missives like this as quickly as possible, no time to proof read or grammar check. Speed of response and communicating the core concepts is paramount.

I don't think FB is dumb, but I do fear that they are highly amoral with respect to personal privacy... And a VR screen glued to your face is getting pretty damn personal. I feel uneasy about a guy who calls his users "dumb fucks" for trusting him to be in charge of that.
He's commenting on the fact that large populations of humanity (pretty much all of Asia and Oceania) subsist on high carb diets -- lots of rice and bananas -- yet don't exhibit massive rates of heart disease etc.
Maybe, but 99% of the time it's because the proprietors can't pay their bills when people occupy their limited seating area for hours and hours on end without spending any money. Take the hint and find a Starbucks.
