I haven't heard the label stoichiocrat[1] before, and Google search only finds this HN page. Do you know if many others share these views, and if they've ever been implemented?
It's easiest to think of rules in a black and white, opt-in or opt-out way, and I hadn't considered the probabilistic option.
[1] Without knowing the words, I think you mean "stochiocrat", which would be related to "stochastic" and probabilistic. Google found one result for this, but it didn't provide good context; I think it was referring to how Venetian Doges were elected [2]. "Stoichiocrat" would be more related to "stoichiometery", coming from a Greek word that can mean "element".
I'd like and use the touchbar more if it was quicker. Occasional 5 second and frequent 0.5 to 2 second lag on the escape or a volume key is very frustrating when physical keyboards should be very fast.
I similarly cringe at vaguely documented APIs, but being a young developer, my experience with REST has been better. For instance, I've consumed a SOAP API where the WSDL specification was primarily a method named "Magic" that accepted a string "Method" and six string-typed parameters, "Parameter1" through "Parameter6".
I think the key is to pick a documentation tool that the team will actually use.
In college, everyone used roommate for someone in the same bedroom and apartment-mate or suite-mate for someone in the same unit. For us, a suite lacked a kitchen and living room, but did share a bathroom.
As others have said, roommate generally just means living in the same apartment. It's a weird term though, in that I wouldn't use "room" to refer to an entire apartment.
As an individual, I had three sets of unanswered questions while visiting the site.
1) Can I use my insurance for part of this? Even if it isn't directly covered, would it count towards the max out of pocket? Can I use an FSA/HSA?
2) On the /learn page it isn't clear what happens after 4 weeks. Do I keep access to sleep tracking? Of less interest to me, what about the marketplace or sleep course? What is the cost to stay subscribed? The sign up flow explains the monthly subscription for physical goods, but I didn't click into that page before I decided to leave a comment and went back to double check the /learn page's contents.
3) Other than the sleep coach, what are the concierge features? Does the content pack include articles, videos, podcasts, "homework", or other things? Is the apnea screening a qualitative questionnaire or does it use data from the sleep tracking? Are the personalized tools software, psychological tactics, physical sleep aids, or something else?
It certainly looks like an interesting product, but it's priced too high for me to buy before understanding it better.
