*A small bug was denying signups. He has been dealt with. All alopologies*

Introducing Credence — a new kind of professional network for tech folks.

The mission is simple: fix what's broken in today’s platforms.

LinkedIn locks people out without warning. Shadowbanning happens for no reason. It’s a popularity contest where who you know often matters more than what you do. And unless you pay, basic features like messaging or applying for jobs are limited. That’s not how professional networking should work.

So I built Credence. It’s a Ruby on Rails + Postgres-based platform that puts skill and contribution first. No ads. No algorithm games. No pricey subscriptions. Just real credit, merit, and connection.

And yes — we do jobs too. Real, verified opportunities. No scams, no spam, no data-mining schemes pretending to recruit. Just solid roles from trusted sources for people who are actually qualified.

If that sounds like something you’d want to be part of, the waitlist is open: https://www.hookerhillstudios.com/credence-waitlist

No fluff, no fame. Just Credence.

Thank you for the compliment and advice, I will make my landing page more clear so that the value proposition goes unmissed.

My project clients have mostly been small businesses and entrepreneurs who have yet to establish their preferred methods of operating, and they have not balked at using Stripe for card payments or bank transfers. I had a handful of them asking for a way to check progress, make payments, etc.... which led to me building Momentum. Instead of just building a system for me to use and solve my own problem, I decided to open it up and make it available for others. I have only been creating software for just over two years (although I have a small amount of coding experience from when I was a teenager), all self taught so I have a lot of growing to do... especially when it comes to marketing.

That being said, it makes a lot of sense that medium/large companies would not be interested in a project dashboard or credit card payments now that you have pointed out those examples, I appreciate you sharing your experience with me so that I am able to grow and increase my awareness of markets and needs.

Thanks again for the replies to my post.

Best regards,

Jared

Thanks for sharing your experience, Greg!

I really appreciate your thoughtful take, it’s clear you’ve built a system that works perfectly for your workflow. Momentum isn’t designed to replace what works for seasoned freelancers like yourself, but it’s more than just time tracking or invoicing. Let me clarify where it fits in:

Client Collaboration Portal: One of the core features of Momentum is a dedicated portal where clients can log in to track project progress in real time. They can upload files, leave feedback, and even pick color palettes for design-related projects. This is especially helpful for creative freelancers- designers, marketers, web developers- who need constant client input and want to streamline that back-and-forth.

Integrated Invoicing & Payments: Beyond project tracking, clients can pay invoices directly through the platform. This reduces the need for manual follow-ups or switching between tools, making it easier for freelancers to get paid on time.

Transparency for Newer Clients: While you’ve built long-term trust with your clients, many freelancers work with new clients frequently. Momentum helps establish that trust early on by making the whole process transparent—clients can see exactly where things stand at any given time.

Simplified Workflow for Growing Freelancers: For freelancers managing multiple short-term projects, Momentum brings project management, file sharing, and billing into one place, reducing the friction of juggling multiple tools.

I totally get that for freelancers like you, who have long-term clients and a well-oiled system, something like Momentum might feel unnecessary. But for those in different industries or earlier in their freelancing journey, it can be a plus for both organization and client relationships.

Thanks again for your feedback. It’s super valuable to hear from experienced freelancers like you!

Ease of use and out of the box functionality.

OpenSaaS takes a lot of configuration and setup. SaaSavant ships as a fully functional SaaS application. Just add your environment variables and the features that make your product unique, then deploy. User sign up, account management, automated billing, emails, newsletter, landing page, support ticket system, policies, user dashboard, admin dashboard, etc. are all setup and ready to go.
