LinkedIn locks people out without warning. Shadowbanning happens for no reason. It’s a popularity contest where who you know often matters more than what you do. And unless you pay, basic features like messaging or applying for jobs are limited. That’s not how professional networking should work.
So I built Credence. It’s a Ruby on Rails + Postgres-based platform that puts skill and contribution first. No ads. No algorithm games. No pricey subscriptions. Just real credit, merit, and connection.
And yes — we do jobs too. Real, verified opportunities. No scams, no spam, no data-mining schemes pretending to recruit. Just solid roles from trusted sources for people who are actually qualified.

My project clients have mostly been small businesses and entrepreneurs who have yet to establish their preferred methods of operating, and they have not balked at using Stripe for card payments or bank transfers. I had a handful of them asking for a way to check progress, make payments, etc.... which led to me building Momentum. Instead of just building a system for me to use and solve my own problem, I decided to open it up and make it available for others. I have only been creating software for just over two years (although I have a small amount of coding experience from when I was a teenager), all self taught so I have a lot of growing to do... especially when it comes to marketing.
That being said, it makes a lot of sense that medium/large companies would not be interested in a project dashboard or credit card payments now that you have pointed out those examples, I appreciate you sharing your experience with me so that I am able to grow and increase my awareness of markets and needs.
