I looked at their site briefly and didn't quite see the answer to this, on the bottom of their FAQ (https://www.augur.net/faq/) it says:
Fees on the Augur protocol go directly to the market creator and REP holders who report and dispute outcomes. The Forecast Foundation does not recieve any fees from actions, trades, markets or use on the Augur protocol.
I guess this has to do with them being a decentralized marketplace, which as the article discusses does have some cool perks.
In the USA, PredictIt.org is a site that is also aimed at prediction, but they take a 10% fee on profit, and then a 5% fee on withdrawal. Seemingly a lot more volume on their markets than Augur at the moment, with some of their markets having hundreds of thousands of shares traded, and thousands of comments.
Very interesting. In the last 2 years I scare-tactic'd myself into seriously restricting my sugar (basically down to what the WHO would recommend for a person like myself) and immediately saw improvements in my skin, and not long after noticed that I don't get sick as often.
As well, I've adopted the practice of avoiding any eating after 7pm.
These two things combined resulted in me going from the 150s down to the 140s, seemingly only losing fat in the process.
All anecdotal but it has been more than enough to convince me that sugar (despite my deep, deep, deep, love for it) is not good for me.
I'm not really qualified to speak on this, but the most annoying part about this is it seems like a new discussion every 6 months. It's like asking your roommate to not set fire to the kitchen, but every half hour you have to go stop them from doing it... at some point it almost feels easier to just have the kitchen on fire than to continually worry about the kitchen being on fire.
I had real hopes for the Windows Phones, I thought they were really exploring a unique approach to the whole thing. I'm on Apple right now and it is the Apple ecosystem that keeps me here more than anything.
Apple has definitely lacked vision since Jobs left, it has been the biggest issue in my opinion for them as a company. Cook has a lot of very valuable skills, but I've still found myself wondering, "What the what is going on at Apple!!..." (In a negative way)
I've had a tendency of entering prolonged periods of focus throughout my life, and at this point I can feel my brain almost optimize to the task at hand, there is a type of shift.
For example, I played and performed music seriously for a period of time (no singing), and it was pointed out by a close friend that any performance that lasted more than an hour and my verbal center would basically crash. It would take at least 30 minutes or even hours before my brain would be able to start talking like a normal person again. Prior to this point in time I had purchased a pocket dictionary which I carried around, seemingly to combat this issue.
At present, when I have been working on something particularly engaging at work my wife notices because my ability to communicate does suffer.
