It's mostly appetite suppressing. Affects the perception of hunger and the brain/reward function of eating, which must also be part of what also helps for drug and alcohol addiction.

It IME doesn't act like an anti-depressant/SSRI which can affect your enthusiasm/desire for your job.

Absolutely life changing drug for me.

Airpods Max are 100% everywhere. And not in affluent areas either.

I probably see people wear them on public transit most often—and when I visited NY the subway was by far the most common place to see them.

I can't take credit for this, but I also don't recall where I heard/read it from:

"Most teams would be better off using a shared spreadsheet for task management than they would using Jira"

Rings true to me to this day.

Devils Advocate:

Fiddling with React Native tooling on day 0 is just as terrible. I may argue it's worse.

Do you think AirBnB's headcount was smaller when they were all-in on React Native?

Do you think they had to go on a hiring spree because they went back to native?

I'm skeptical there is a correlation.

> with 3 developers

There is a fairly large chasm between a small team and a Shopify, AirBnB, or Udacity. These companies have dozens-if-not-hundreds of developers piling on complexity.

These companies don't necessarily feel the pain of building on somebody else's sand on day 1 or day 100, but on day 1000. This is what AirBnB and Udacity ultimately discovered.
