My decade of experience with lawyers is that most of them aren't great with technology. If I had a dollar for every lawyer I knew with an AOL email address I would be writing this sat on the beach.
I've known a lot of people who were amazing at their job, but shitty at running a business. I guess I would have tried to help these lawyers and explain their wrongheaded tech decisions to see what their next move would be. That would give me a better understanding of whether they were an outfit worthy of my time.
Is there some sort of attack possible here where you could hand out unique onion addresses to each visitor, so when they connect with Tor you could fingerprint their Tor connection and match it to their cleartext connection? *takes off his black hat*
Exactly. Prosecutors goals are to prosecute. Even if they don't see the prosecution through to the end because it becomes politically unfavorable, you might still sit in pre-trial detention for a decade before they drop the charges.
There is the old apocryphal story of how eBay was started with Pez dispensers. But in 1997 when MAME launched, 99% of eBay was CDs of ROMs, and Beanie Babies. eBay gave no fucks back then (people were buying and selling kidneys) and most people were on dial-up, so buying CDs with 1000 ROMs on it was heaven.
That's funny. I paid for something using my CashApp debit card and the merchant took the money and never delivered it and CashApp say there is nothing they can do there either.
I just got banned from Twitter for posting the contact details of their VPs :|
Cool to see another jailbird here turning things around. I just did 8 inside. How long were you locked up for?
p.s. I would love to fix the audio on your intro video - the hum and echo is killing me. I used to be married to a voice actor and I set up her studio and recording pipeline. [Audacity and Audition both have a quick filter to remove background noise]
When I was made to work three nights without sleep for some imaginary deadline, and staff came in on the fourth morning and they had to pry the gold CD out of my hand as I was asleep on the floor under my desk - that was the end for me.
> Every actor in the game world was to have a personality, daily routines etc.
I tried this on a limited scale in a text-based MUD in the 90s, and even then it quickly became an ungodly nightmare. What sounds good in your head isn't always feasible in reality.
I had to buy dozens of old phones on eBay once for testing a new SMS product and I can tell you that most of the phones were not wiped and lots had naughty photos and videos still on them :|
It looked horribly tacky and a few years later everyone quietly disappeared the TLDs.
