doubt it - in the uber/waymo thing the guy got pardoned by trump after lobbying from thiel/luckey, probably a similar outcome for this guy since altman has trump's ear rn.
yep the most that will happen is apple/openai co-branded devices or some sort of "corporate synergy" now that everyone knows apple tech is in the upcoming openai stuff.
there's no value in it for apple to go nuclear like there was for google to push a competitor out of the market w/ uber vs waymo

Apple software is unusable in india, no one uses it coz it has terrible data and thus the data never gets changed coz no one uses it.
i have gotten wrong timings for gyms, wrong routes, it won't detect my home address from my contacts etc etc
always find it funny when americans say "it's good now", no brother they fixed all the glitches in states it's still launch apple maps trash in india
you have to admit when you're in a busy day w/ looming deadlines and your machine starts chugging coz it can't handle the excel docs/dev work going on it feels like the worst thing ever.
the kinda company that can't afford to give you the latest stuff is more likely to have those kindsa days all the time too so it feels even worse. management even rides your ass coz you can't make it work...
part of "making it" as a software dev in a lot of countries is getting a machine per your specs not having a machine specced out to you by IT.
Apple isn't in the business of giving user's choice. I think their argument always has been against the inertia of familiarity and in the case of the butterfly switches and touchbar it's bitten them in the ass but they can't undo the choice for whatever reason
Are these industry pros just not talking about it? coz every review by any kind of pro i see on youtube talks about how worthless teh touch bar is as a con against a macbook
I laughed when they showed the music professional using the touchbar to scrub through audio/video. like any pro is using anything less than a whole another macro keyboard to handle that issue
Maybe not true for 2019 version but previous versions have had a serious issue with the touchbar just hanging/becoming unresponsive - requiring a reboot to fix the issue.
It's not ideal right now but cloud dev is clearly the way it's going. I'd say buying el cheapo chromebook + cloud dev environment would work out to be cheaper even if the cloud provider somehow screwed up and took off(not been my experience but i haven't needed to work with k8 yet)
Can anyone chime in on WHY apple doesn't care about the gaming segment? Is it just elitism from the design/dev team or do they truly think no one wants to game on a mac? It's strange behavior for a company.

just wipe the ipad clean and see where the finger smudges happen in combination with finger movements. i was doing this on my dad's htc palmtop as a kid to access the browser
Not everyone is a rockstar engineer in a top 5 company my guy, people have to start somewhere and paperwork is a huge show stopper in india in general.
