I agree, Jenkins is awful. We also started with Bash scripts, but eventually moved to using Ansible playbooks, which is much nicer than Groovy. Alternatively, I recommend using Earthly as well.
I've really enjoyed using Hyperview (https://hyperview.org/) recently, which uses React Native as a base. I used to think PWA/Ionic/Capacitor apps were better, but have really fallen in love with the simplicity of Hyperview and tools like HTMX.
Don't listen to HackerNews folks here, you've validated a lot of the issues that I've experienced as well. No one here is taking you seriously, because they're trying to put the blame on you, but it's not you, it's TypeScript. The solution is not to switch to something else, it's to put pressure on TypeScript to make this quality of life better.
I believe it. Back in college we started out with this visual tool called Raptor and it was a great introduction to programming before diving into more complicated languages like Java. While Raptor was fun, clearly Scratch would have been nicer.
I'll throw this out there (even though I know the response I'll get), why not use Crystal-lang instead of Go-lang? Besides the obvious differences in funding, what does Go have that Crystal doesn't?
