I’ve tried xterm, terminator, termite, urxvt, st, kitty, and gnome-terminal but Alacritty is my go to because of it’s speed and simplicity. Alacritty has no menus, no tabs, no scroll bars, and configuration is done via a single config file. I pair it with tmux. The only minor thing I wished Alacritty would support is font ligatures.

No surprise here; Americans aren't taking as seriously as they should while Japanese people are very clean and highly protective of their health. Hopefully people are still allowed to go back to Japan if that's where their home is and only travel for pleasure or business is banned.

Well yes obviously it doesn't matter but that fee is way higher than average for a fast transaction meaning they're ok with spending a lot more than the average sender.

The final transaction is a total of 13611 bytes in size while the test one is 1220 bytes. There is a fee per byte in the Bitcoin UTXO model. An unspent transaction output (UTXO) contains information about who can spend the bitcoin so there is a fee attached to every byte of information in a UTXO because miners spend computing power processing every byte. The final transaction contained 15 UXTOs which made it a lot larger in size than the test one which only contained 4 UTXOs. The final transaction had a fee of 480 satoshis per byte and the test one had a fee of 435 satoshis per byte.

13611 * 480 = 6533280 sats which is 0.06533280 BTC which is ~$675 USD

1220 * 435 = 530700 sats which is 0.00530700 BTC which is ~$55 USD

if you're wondering why the fee per byte is not the same for both transactions, it's probably because the recommended fee fluctuates depending on network congestion throughout the day. If you're wondering why the transaction fee per byte is higher than average, well it's probably because the sender is a billionaire who doesn't really care and just wants their transaction processed quickly.

The fee is less than a thousand for a BILLION dollar transfer. Cryptocurrencies are amazing.

Thanks. I wished people would explain that instead of downvoting.

Agree, Brave should use DAI instead.

Why doesn't brave adopt a stable coin like DAI for donations? Tokens are pretty volatile and it would suck for the publisher to lose money because they didn't cash out immediately. That won't be a problem though with DAI.

For rough estimations, doubling it 4 times and dividing by 10 is usually good enough

(300 << 4) / 10 = 480

300mi to km = 482.803

Wait, PHP is not garbage?

> all those people who were having fun on 8chan will now see the error of their ways

Sorry but I can't empathize with your statement since bigotry, racism, hatred, and white supremacy don't come off as 'fun'

Just like how we pull weeds in gardens all year round; deplatforming will remove majority of these users with undesirable qualities.

> backed by nothing at all

What lol I mean just look at the tweets for the terms 'twitter redesign'; there's plenty of evidence that people feel strongly about redesigns.

Users are lazy creatures of habit. Energy conservation.

Very cool, this feature was much needed. It would be nice to be able to sponsor specific issues that pay bounties once the pull request is merged and issue is closed instead of only a specific developer. Would also be cool if the developer can specify a preferred payment option other than fiat such as open to accepting cryptocurrencies
