One can always use multiple editors for what they do besg.

Zed, helix, nvim for small files in gui or terminal.

A solid Slow start IDE for solid extended time work

They mean, to attempt things that seem very difficult to normies like you and me, and be successful at it, one needs to be insane.

I meant to say, in the title. As Wireguard is way more popular than VeraCrypt...

They should have also picked up that WireGuard Creator account also got his account terminated

Now this is even more alarming! Wireguard's creator has their Microsoft account suspended...

<Tin foil hat on> Microsoft doesn't want to allow software that would allow the user to shield themselves, either by totally encrypting a drive, or by encrypting their network traffic! </Tin foil hat on>

If it were about making a choice of which web framework to use on the server, obviously you wouldn't want to use Lua.

But if it is about using it as an embedded language. you want just enough language to get you started and be able to tweak controls. so that the embedded language itself doesn't take up unnecessary space, on its own.

It's a design choice to have a language as small as possible while still offering cool tools.

well, it is true that the second one is more concise.

The only difference is that one of the language is embedded and barely takes any place. it's just a few C files :-D It offers just enough functionality while not making it overly complicated to make basic things.

The other one is way way bigger. and even Array.filter didn't exist from the start

Now why would you hate lua of all things?

Godot will be familiar to you if you then.

Löve on the other hand is 100% just code. You'll not have the gui things and the pletora of different components that go with them. Still gives you freedom. Just too much freedom and not as much helpful preset tools.

> since people apparently can't read

I know Free and OpenSource software is only available thanks to maintainers who spend their time and money to make it available. This type of sentence though, makes all I just mentioned easy to forget, when they take that tone with you.

in the past few years, OpenAI and other companies like it have received relatively the same amount of money the USA has spent on weapons for the past 70 years it seems. so relative to that, yes, it is cheap...

nah. tell him, you're in a race. others are using motorboats. the last to reach the finish line loses their salary. that's a better analogy, or at least what a lot of people think the analogy is.

AI isn't an adequate replacement for experienced software engineers, that is true.

But employers think it is, and are falling for the hype and are affecting engineers left and right regardless.

Whether I'm wrong or they're wrong is immaterial.

They're still replacing SWEs with AI.

I wonder just what goes into someone's mind, when they do not care about who in the future is gonna have to maintain what they've crafted. Nor care about the experience of the user. Nor even feel accountable when they haven't done their due diligence to do things right.

Believe me I have tried. And already have made my config. Took me weeks, and is still no closer to getting to be up to par with what I get with helix out of the box.

It also is just super slow on windows unfortunately.

But one day, one day I'll switch

Your comment reeks of "I am a programmer and think CSS is not worth my time, it's for designers, eww"

Which is the actual issue. Learn CSS and treat it as part of the web stack.
