How large is a single camp that they'd need 11 APs? Couldn't you just have a few on poles? Why do 50 hotspots cost 300k? Are they rugged units bundled with GPS units and solar panels?
Five years ago I would've said "who cares?" and I feel the same way now. Twitter, like Facebook and Digg and Google+ and MySpace and Geocities and ICQ and AIM and IRC and BBSes, is a temporary, voluntary and optional waste of time.
Google should still show the autocomplete results, but in a different color! Blue for when your query makes them sad, red for when your query has angered them and green when you're looking for information so upsetting they'll turn into the Incredible Hulk.
Why don't they just pass search results through a second algorithm which removes anything anyone could find offensive? We wouldn't have this problem if registrars did their jobs and protected our feelings by seizing domains.
I've never understood why during my lifetime my government has allowed our economy to come to depend on a communist country which is now effectively a dictatorship.
As a simple guy I really miss monster of the week TV series. I watch The Expanse for the aliens. My favorite recent movie is Annihilation. Lately I've been reading fiction so old it's in the public domain.
The bigger problem is that even if they create their own platform - let's say the NRA rolls out guntube - they're still at the mercy of registrars. Don't read TheDailyStormer (unless you really want to) but do read about how much trouble they're having keeping free speech on the internet - gab.ai is in many ways a similarly objectionable site which has been threatened with the same treatment.
I agree that platforms have the right to police content but I disagree strongly with registrars seizing domain names without a court order.
I can't trust anything these days but if the information is legitimate - both the government investigation and the reporting - then forgetting to use your VPN has taken down both Guccifer 2.0 and Dread Pirate Roberts. That's incredible given these comments are full of advice on how to prevent that from happening.
I'm fine with fewer chemicals, more bugs and higher prices but that's because I could still afford to eat. I'd venture to say if half of Earth's population was going to starve in order to keep the planet viable everyone reading this would be in the 50% which survives. What's the solution?
Google is in the process of repulsing half the country with illegal hiring practices and arbitrary censorship, I wouldn't bank on ineffective ads keeping the company afloat for another decade.
When I came out of college I worked hard (didn't slack off) and smart (automated what I could.) Never had a boss who seemed to appreciate either one. Last real job I had I worked from home half the time - I'd wake up, sign into Skype and go back to sleep until someone called. Got the day's work done in the afternoon.
