It's really crazy how little attention animal welfare is getting these days among so many others causes that frankly aren't anywhere near the same level of severity! The numbers are so astronomical now. Every year 100s of BILLIONs of animals are killed as part of the industrial factory farming process. If only their death was the worst of the tragedy...what's far worse is how basically every minute of their existence on earth is tainted with suffering (as part of the process that is only optimized for maximum yield). These animals have the same pain mechanism as we do, there's no debate about that at all and it's increasingly being proven that they also have emotions, feelings, dreams, etc. just like we do. Anyone who's had any pet can attest to that as well. It never ceases to amaze how people happily stay ignorant to that inconvenient fact and get up in arms about political differences or "Social Justice" while the greatest atrocities are happening on a daily basis with what they indirectly support via their consumption.

Same experience here... SHOCKINGLY bad quality of code! Over the years, I often tried to offer mentorship to try to help them improve but I find that they either pretend like they're listening and don't really grasp/absorb any of it or they flat out don't care. I hate making broad generalizations but really feels like majority just rigged their way into this IT industry to make a quick buck and/or as a ticket to get out of India and they couldn't care less about the craft of doing tech work (let alone actual software engineering).

Unfortunately, by far and away the biggest problem I've had with offshored work in India is the sheer poor quality of work and the lack of attention to details. I've been in IT for 23 years and worked with offshore teams all over the world. With India above all else, your best bet is to work with a team that you have direct references for, or past experiences; otherwise you can expect disappointment. I've lost count of all the times, there were fake resumes, people suddenly ghosting, and COUNTLESS quality issues. It seems like the culture of, "Acceptable is what you don't get caught with" is quite rampant there above anywhere else. I never ever would select to offshore anything to India if I had a choice!
