This right here is my primary problem with Mastodon. Its ripe for drama like this. The amount of glee I saw in the older users their about defedrating felt really unsettling. "If X company comes we will defedarate them" "If X celebrity comes we will defedarate them".

I think its smart. Best to keep it out of the hand of freaks for now otherwise people will start thinking of image generators as porn generators.

First they should sort out the legal question of training the AI on copyrighted material and propose use cases that the general public will find value in. Censorship can be dealt with later.

The goal of the YouTube algorithm is not to give you great videos but keep you mildly entertained for long periods of time.

In my experience the 'suggested videos' next to the video you're watching is more than good enough to get recs.

I use newpipe and put all the videos I like in a playlist. So everytime I want new videos I just scroll through the list, click on a video and just try something from suggested videos.

No billionaire gets more hate than Jeff bezoz and Washington Post is not comparable to twitter.

Almost everyone uses twitter, it getting bought is news enough but elon also hilariously mismanaged it during the first week.

The hate is deserved and has nothing to do with his politics.
