Not much more than reviewing the code of any average dev who doesn't bother doing their due diligence. At least with an AI I immediately get an answer with "Oh yes, you're right, sorry for the oversight" and a fix. Instead of some bullshit explanation to try to convince me that their crappy code is following the specs and has no issues.

That said, I'm deeply saddened by the fact that I won't be passing on a craft I spent two decades refining.

What would be the percentage of researchers left if they weren't trying this hard to create them?

With a good theoretical background in CS, most of what you need for the industry can be learned more easily throughout your career.

That universities are not dedicated to teaching how to be an immediately productive economical actor makes sense. That's of course assuming you don't have to take on 300k of debt to get a degree...

> The doctors initially thought he would quickly die after being taken off the ventilator, but he has persisted for about a month now.

Doctors can think whatever but because most of them will prefer legality over morality anyway, they leave everyone to suffer and move on to the next patient. Then you're left to care and wait, oscillating in-between hoping that your loved one dies soon or that some miracle happens. In my case it was someone who had made very clear that they didn't want to remain in case of a catastrophic event like this.

Having a strong stance on euthanasia without having experienced first-hand what it actually means is – in my opinion – just a symptom of a clear lack of empathy, dismiss any politician who does.

> It's the same story with ChatGPT: Google had the tech but not the freedom to let it loose.

I wouldn't be so sure, in my case ChatGPT passes the bar of being mildly useful but Bard is still absolutely useless. I can see two equally likely explanations for this: they simply can't manage to pull it off due to their culture or they can't release something that isn't massively more nerfed than the competition.

Did you consider using BT or UWB as a radar? On a tennis court you won't have any obstacles to worry about, I suspect it's relatively easy to solve.

UWB in particular is accurate enough to get breathing patterns...

According to who? I have the same issue and it's annoying.
