I've played some online ranked in Linux with DE. On some of the older patches I had random crashes upon reaching castle age so I'm currently sticking to windows though.
For one of my first phone interviews, my motorola had a helpful feature where it would mute notifications during a calendar event. Since I'd put the interview in my calendar, it put the phone on silent so I missed the call!
I think intent matters here. Spanish Flu is from so long ago it already has a universal name, whereas I think referring to COVID-19 as the Chinese virus is usually only done by people who'd like to blame China.
I would actually say the opposite - its much easier to get hold of a financial dataset than for other fields. There are packages for easily downloading Yahoo finance data e.g https://github.com/ranaroussi/yfinance
I think Taleb makes a similar point in his books - if you can forsee an economic crisis, you take steps to avoid it and therefore it doesn't happen. But then everyone asks why you were wrong in the first place, as the crisis didn't happen
