To be honest, I have little faith in GCP. I really wanted to use GCP for my next side project. I wanted to experiment with a new platform and I did not want to get stuck with AWS.
I tried and tried ... but I eventually gave up and went back to AWS. GCP lacks of good, simple, clear documentation, developer documentation, best practices. Their offer is very confusing: just look at the whole firebase thing in regard to user authentication + firestore vs datastore.
Switching to AWS made things way easier, there are tons of people out there
that most likely have already solved most of the issues you can run into
when developing and deploying a service on AWS.
