Do we know places when it actually works well? I agree about a small regulation layer, but the issue is that regulation grows over time to the point when it limits free market power. The most problematic markets in the US is over regulated by my opinion

I just checked Init7 price for 1gig internet in Zurich and the price is higher than I'm paing for 1gig in Seattle and payed in Bay Area. So, free market kinda works.

But even in this case, the article doesn't provide motivations for companies spent a lot money for building common infrastructure in rural places which usually have an issue with bad internet options

> The Free Market Lie

Why is it a lie if Switzerland actually uses a free market and gets bonuses from it? Yeah, the idea with 1 common infrastructure is a positive aspect. It's interesting how they solve an issue with maintenance. But still, low prices and good quality of service are benefits of the free market.

Even some bad aspects/issues doesn't justice that we need to support even worse cases

Also want to mark that `surveillance capitalism` companies can not be comparable with totaletar countries which want to control people. This is orders of magnitude worse

The main problem is providing infrastructure for a government that can over use it in future if move to ultra right/left/authoritarian spectrum

Just for example Russia build infrastructure for blocks website for child safety, but it started to used much further

As an russians who moved abroad I think sanctions positively affect Puttin so far. Because, he got a lot what he wanted but couldn't get without sanctions: - russian companies replaced majority of international companies. Many of IT companies growed 20-40% year by year - sanctions locked money inside of the country which help to build new everything - sanctions made boost of internal culture and patriotism. Which also increased popularity of government and reduced any alternative options.

And many more similar examples. Sanctions will hurt Russia in long term but not now. Because good sanctions requires to understand the country culture + execute only that hurt countries, which didn't do western countries.
