I love that phrase "neurotypicals." Really, those are the ones who are the dinosaurs here.

You can be "glad" all you want, but the underlying reality here is that the type of brain that is excellent at coding is not excellent at "social skills." Instead of telling people to "deal with it" maybe realize that there is no dealing with that and that expectations for what people are capable of are unrealistic. For example, some shithead journalists who got laid off complained bitterly about being told to "learn to code." Those fuckers got downright angry about that and yet people who code are all the time told "be more sociable," or "don't be an introvert." Yeah, uh not.

"People with Asperger’s syndrome, the term still commonly used for one of the most well-known forms of autism spectrum disorder, bring serious advantages to the financial markets: extreme focus, a facility with numbers, a willingness to consider unpopular opinions, a strong sense of logic, and an intense belief in fairness and justice. But, like other autistic employees, they often feel alienated from their managers, colleagues, and clients. Sometimes they simply get fired."

I'm definitely one of these. I've never been fired, but have voluntarily left plenty of developer jobs out of sheer frustration. And then I fall right back into the same bs over and over again until I'm just at the point where I don't give a damn about any of it. What is wrong with fairness and justice, btw? Oh, I forgot, business is really about how hard you can screw everyone else! Sure...

Unpopular opinions? Again, that wouldn't be a problem if the so-called geniuses could themselves get over their own egos. What's really wrong here isn't people like me, I've been enormously flexible, it's that the biggest asshole always wins in the business world. THAT is what needs to end. It's not my ethics that are challenged. I have upheld my ethics. And it's not fair that people like me are considered to have some kind of "syndrome" when in fact it's the other way around. Am I perfect? No. But I realize that and understand that.

I wholeheartedly disagree. You are an elitist and don't even realize it. There is no such thing as "hate speech" there is only speech you don't like.

It's too bad that people today worry so incessantly that somebody, somewhere, might disagree with them. We're on the brink of losing it all because of that.

My Grandfather fought in WWI. Actually fought. Made it home alive but died from complications of his wounds. They people who died in that war believed in things like our Constitution and freedom from tyranny. And here is history repeating itself all over again.

When you stifle speech, you are going to get that big war all over again, mark my words. People are already lining up just in hopes of getting a single shot at taking down their tormentors.

Also, HN is censoring people like me--I get 2 posts a day because my ideas aren't in line with their own. Thing is, my ideas aren't even particularly radical. I mean, free markets? Capitalism? Really? Are we that far gone?

Damn I hate this site. What are you going to do after every opinion that is different than yours is eradicated from the Internet? Do you think all these people are just going to roll over and die? There is a seething anger rising all over and you're sleepwalking right into a major conflict over this. But that's what you want, isn't it? You think you can win this, but you can't.

You just contradicted yourself. The only point of a cryptocurrency is to pay for goods and services with it, same as any currency. If it's only some kind of long term investment, but it's a currency, isn't that an oxymoron? It serves no purpose whatsoever. It's a Ponzi scheme and it has always been a Ponzi scheme.

The promise of crypto was that it would be untraceable like cash money as well as immune to reserve bank inflation fuckery. The whole thing is unraveling.

Every ageist situation that I have encountered thus far (am age 46) was "not a cultural fit."

I look younger than I am, but my patience for over-working too many hours is at an end. Years of stress have led to health issues that have to be managed.

But this all rolls into "not a cultural fit."
