The biggest threat to the hyper-scalers is small bespoked models run locally. You don't need the world's stolen information to run a small project containing locally trained data you collected. But you do need to block everyone if you want to capture the entire market and get the trillion dollar valuation.
How do you deal with the lack of cognitive engagement? I think it is the primary driver of developing and maintaining skills as well as generating new ideas. Letting an agent do it for you will just get you average but well formatted code. Not something new.
I don't think you can learn high level techniques or architectures without first understanding the basics first. This means boring boiler plate coding.
