what is the underling filesystem for your kv store, it doesn't appear to use raw devices.

I think corporate cloud killed opensource, AI is simply a nail in its coffin. OpenAI's recent announcement did more for software patents than anyone could have ever done when they floated they own of your ideas.

An excellent example of the political utility of AI, and how long it takes to figure out that it isn't as useful as the hype might make you think.

clearly selling the report to business people whom don't code. Like most things in the AI arena today, the report is BS about a system the mostly create technical debt and is sold as intelligence.

I haven't read HN for a while, this appears to just be an advertisement, did the rules change and advertisements for new products are promoted like product placement in movies?

asking for a friend that liked this space

Keeping away form VCs that "know better" how to monetize my time seems like a proven technique for managing my time. Money I create directly impacts my loved ones.

explain flat soft drinks... Your beer, champaign, and all carbonated drinks contain CO2 that is dissolved in solution and as the temperature increases as it sits in your glass the CO2 comes out of solution.

This isn't an IQ test: now think of the oceans, as temperature changes the solubility of CO2 changes inversely proportional to temperature just like your soda pop becomes flat when it warms up. Additionally this is why soft drinks are served cold.

Bottomless outrage seems to be the outlet for a life unlived, unfulfilled. Do something constructive by ignoring thoughts that beg for influence and abuse logic.

At the end of 2022 I caught Legionaries and arrived at the hospital with 48% O2 saturation and promptly slipped into a coma. Next came a trake and a respirator which was placed in a medically induced coma. I was unconscious for almost 2 months in the ER. I'd get CPR twice and once I awoke fully the head nurse came in and asked (once I could talk) how it was to meet Jesus. I didn't meet Jesus but I did hang with several dead friends, some aliens and at least one deity. The dreams were most vivid and I now look at death as a physical phenomena, I do believe that my spirit persists. I'm glad that I get to continue with this life and I'm grateful for all the days, good or bad. The "dreams" were 90% dark/bad but having survived those makes today just wonderful.

Seems like a lot of work. Greenhouses sometime need shade so we coat them in 50lb bags of Hydrated lime (Calcium Hydroxide) which can be purchases for really cheap. While I enjoyed the video when I have thousands of squarefeet that need coverage hydrated lime works great.

Having recently recovered from Legionnaires where I was in a medically induced coma for nearly 2 months where I received CPR twice for flat-lining here is my experience... I didn't know what happened but I did get to meet deities, aliens and participate in a bunch of sci-fi oriented excursions. In short I learned about where the mind goes under a lot of drugs and I appreciate the experience. It was easier to remember and clearer than dreams. As to the bright light -- I thought it was nuclear war :) It a long "bad trip" but recovering well, thanks to a great community of concerned friends and healers.

this article complains about the vagueness of many descriptions of making parchment and forget the context of the middle ages where just about everyone knew how to skin an animal. The more skilled knew how to remove hair from a skin. Ignoring what must have been common knowledge back then for vague or incomplete descriptions leaves me with little joy or love for this work.
