I'm aware that that's the theory.

But if it's really promising and ready and I care enough then I'll notice anyway.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what this tool is achieving. Running filters on many files? Does this mean that your business dies if the original tool gains the ability (and nice GUI) to run batch jobs on its own?

Never in my life have I signed up on a waitlist. And nobody else I know ever has. I have enough spam in my inbox, why actively invite more?

Stephen Wolfram pushes this to the extreme.

Surprised that nobody mentioned him yet.

From an evolutionary perspective, wouldn't we expect to have developed a way to "reset" parts of our brain then?

Do we have aby indication that that's true? They are trying (and apparently succeeded) to sell something that's quite obviously fake. Whatever else they claim should be viewed in the light of that lie.

I recommend Lex Friedman's podcast's episode with Matthew Cox.

They bought it for 3000 DM and then sell it for less than half that price over 20 years later?

I'd also ask how come a single binder would suffice for 10 years of bills.

And the locally used abbreviation for the currency at the time was DM, not DEM.

For close to $1000, a little bit of effort is not unexpected.

"x% chance dying of the flu" has two vastly different meanings.

"If you die, then the cause of death is to 2.5% the flu" is one meaning. Likely close to correct.

"With 2.5% you will die this year a death caused by the flu" is another. Unlikely to be correct.
