I am amazed at people's willingness to use Grok. The company is so transparently morally bankrupt. They're the only AI company that seems okay with CSAM (or at least don't do as much to stop it)

Why give them money?

It would be one thing if they were the only game in town but thats definitely not the case.

Ehhh in my experience compliance auditors are 10 behind the cutting edge. I still see auditors that don't understand Kubernetes and so ask the same questions they would about on prem machines. They don't know the questions to ask to get to the real meat of the risks. This leads them to allow things through that probably deserve more scrutiny. I bet the same thing will happen with LLM tools like this. They'll just ask if you use PRs and wave you on through.

yeah came here to say that. Leg lab was doing robotic locomotion in the 80s

Leg Lab evolved into Boston Dynamics, which have been (and maybe continue to be) the leader in real bipedal walking.

Pretty sure this was made by John Resig, the creator of jQuery.

I used to be friends with him back in the day and he described wanting to do something like this. He was/is a passionate dude.

I’m so glad all over my elderly family members have locked down iPhones and iPads. Remember all that tech support you had to do back in Windows 98 days?

Modern devices are too complex for most people to really grok. The only sane solution is to lock them down.

You’re looking at it all wrong, story points are a defensive tool for you the developer. It gives your team a made up unit that no one else understands.

If you told someone on Monday that a ticket takes two days they’ll ask you on Thursday why it’s not done.

Instead story points combined with team velocity give your team a sense of how much work you can commit to.

Of course we all have in our mind that a 5 point story takes a like 3 days.

If some director or product leader comes in and looks at these tickets the won’t see any time estimates on them and thus can’t hold you accountable to them. Sue they can look at your team velocity. But that’s generally a higher level moving average of several sprints.

Of course this is all imprecise and often isn’t implemented well. I’ve seen it work very well for some teams, where it gave us a good sense of our accomplishments and led to more ownership. It often doesn’t work and just adds overhead.

I’ve ditched it for my current team.
