Laid off...Best thing ever to have happened ?

Hey! I am a LAMP developer with some ASP.NET experience under my belt too; today I've been laid off by my firm which is having financial troubles in these times.

I'm thinking to myself that this might be a blessing in disguise, since this might be my chance to move on to something new.

Anybody needs a web-application developer ? I'm looking forward to being part of a startup, preferably and I'm not seeking any money beyond subsistence. (just enough money to pay rent, food, etc. ).

Yeah, keep it to I was laid off, cranked out X application while on unemployment the past two months, have just launched and want YC feedback.

We need a two-way jobs section IMHO. Companies could offer jobs and hackers can announce their availability. Two-way markets are usually more efficient.

OP, I find your post disenginous. You could say it's the best thing ever if you were to start your own company. If you get laid off just to start looking for another job, it probably was not "the best". Just my 2 cents.
