Ive been using zettel notes, on fdroid. It can handle the git syncing. Keys are managed in app as well which i have mixed feeling about but overall its been great for moving from obsidian to a completly self managed system.

The problem is that while that has no dollar value attached, the companies dont care.
It would be good if there was some global carbon tax that required equivilent carbon biomass be grown from scratch to offset emmisions. Said biomass could the be processed and stored.
Its not really a tax, its taking responsibility for the waste you produce.
Same goes for plastics. If a plastic is used in manufacturing in a way that means its going to get thrown oit eventually then that company should be responsible for collecting that amount of that said plastic from garbage and storing it long term.
This would hopefully drive people to the most efficient solutions. Some fossil fues and plastics would still be used but their negitive effects would be offset by the collection and storage process.
I feel like i would like a phone with the sim and wifi module ripped out. Perhaps just bluetooth so my files can get auto transfered when i get home. Phones are great note takers and recorders but the social media and communication aspects can be problematic.

Its more a question of how many deaths per year per unit of energy stored. Batteries are still capable of killing people but its rare, so looking at this number between the 3 storage types would describe the actual risk
From the looks of the page, that would be a microscope. The digital format would be hard but if they are actual pages of text then its very possible, and the text could provide decoding instructions.

They arent going for mass adoption right now so ill say that it works just as expected and is a very smooth experiance. Maybe a few ui tweeks(let me sub from search results please) and some fixes to the loading screens but i can see myself using this on and off for the forseeable future.
