I wonder if the solution makes use of softbody physics to drape the clothes virtually! That would be pretty neat.
Interesting. I've read about virtual influencers [1] and this seems to be somewhere in the middle. We'll probably reach a point where famous influencers will provide "templates" on top of which companies providing t-shirts/makeup/bags/etc. will put their products on.

Interesting. In the future we might even see influencer "template marketplaces" where you can buy the rights to use an influencer's face (and pay additional if you want them to promote that image on their profile).
Do they even have to be real influencers? My Uber for X is "Uber but for influencer footage"!
Your brand wants to be seen with someone seen in a restaurant in Paris? I have a French kid biking around with a 4K camera, he'll go there, shoot the footage, upload it, and you can add your virtual influencer into the shot so it looks like she's showing off the food and then turning the camera around to her (virtual face) for that narcissim gratification!

I think deepfakes will become a cat-and-mouse games. Deepfake text/images/videos will get more realistic, people will figure ways to "expose" fake deepfakes, and the wheel will keep turning.
Perhaps a hot take but I see this as a good thing. Today people tend to blindly trust videos and photos. If we get to a world where deepfakes are the norm, nobody will trust anything. we’ll need some cryptographically secure mechanism for verifying images haven’t been tampered with.
Interesting observation. Do you think NFTs will rise as a result of this "default perception"?
No, I don’t think that we need to use blockchain for this. I think it’s more like smart chips in credit cards or the various security keys embedded in many devices.
If you take a picture on an iPhone, the iPhone could sign the image.

This will probably change the default perception. Nowadays, if people see something online, they assume it's real. The reverse will prob be true in 10 years.
this will probably spread to most things we do online... so happy (NOT)... thanks for the Friday downer dude
Seems like interesting application for clothing e-shops. Shoppers could apply these filters to videos of themselves to see how they would look in these clothes.
Not exactly, the issue is the ML is unlikely to be trained on normal people in the clothing, but instead on clothing models that the sizes fit perfectly on. So The deep fake try-on app will never reveal that actually the sleeves are too long and or the thing is weirdly fitting if one isn’t 6’2” with a 31” waist.
I'm looking forward to when the whole supply chain is automated like this.
Describe something via text, images, etc. Simulate a CAD model of it. Get estimate how much it'll cost to manufacture. Click buy.

However, it seems hard to get right. Rendering fabric right is hard! There's definitely an uncanny valley of clothes rendering to get through.
