I am still worried about privacy, and it seems like the design of PeerTube is no longer flexible enough to consider making the desired improvements. In particular, it sounds like peers can still know which videos somebody has requested.
It's kind of the point, in two ways. First, the constant usage of the Bible to justify political discourse is both a staple of the USA and also painfully stupid. It doesn't matter how nice of an imaginary picture is painted by the "city upon a hill"; it's still a religious and rose-tinted portrait. Exodus probably didn't happen, and so it is a nice story (like Harry Potter) but not worth bringing to the policy table.
Second, the Bible is just not very well-translated. Consider this instead:
> You are the salt of the earth.
> Your flavor brings merit and mirth.
> But use too much extra, anybody could tell ya
> Oversalted food has no worth.
> You are the light of the world.
> Like a town on a hill, you are pearled.
> But in light we bask, only while it's unmask'd
> So fly your town's flags high and unfurled.
Still terrible, but at least now it rhymes correctly.
Hypocritical, not ironic. You mean to highlight that the USA does not treat other sovereign states like the USA expects to be treated. There is no ironic contrast between the USA funding Crypto AG and China funding Huawei.
As another algebraist (category theory and computational complexity), this makes a lot of sense. Euler's identity is capricious and Euclidean to me, and far from the most beautiful equation, although it is still remarkably elegant. I don't have any tattoos, but I might consider some categorical diagram; I don't know how I'd pick just one! Perhaps there is some cool way to draw the Snake Lemma with a realistic-looking snake.
Oh look, it's the gateway-drug argument [0] all over again.
The short version is that, for those other drugs that the grandparent listed in their comment, they are already scheduled for medical usage. Only the psychedelics are scheduled away from any legal usage.
Indeed, one would hope that the author knows enough category theory to know that choices of syntax are arbitrary and that choices of semantics are forced; any Turing-complete language will do, and the rest is optimization and trying to convince cooked rocks to do arithmetic.
Swift may have borrowed it from E, where the half-open variant is `1..!5`, read "from 1 up to, but not including, 5". It is extremely useful for 1-to-n sorts of counting tasks.
By your own numbers, this could translate to a 30-second AES key exfiltration in the cloud. This isn't a non-issue, even if you personally aren't affected.
Thanks for mentioning that not everybody responds well to Ritalin. I was medicated with it while in grade school, and it was not pleasant; the school nurse would check my mouth to make sure I took the pills each morning, because I would spit them out otherwise. To this day, I am not interested in taking medication for my mental health.
Put up a public Web page with your friend's location. Every time they do anything, update the page. After a day, show them the page, and explain what you've done. See if it gets through their thick skull then!
