"Backend APIs, but everything works from the frontend": https://www.skapi.com

This has been my passion project for the past 4 years, and I finally launched it recently. It’s starting to get some real users, which has been incredibly rewarding.

The idea came from my frustration every time I tried to build a web service. No matter which API service or cloud provider I used, designing databases, deploying and managing backend infrastructure always felt too complex and not much fun. So I built a backend API that just works out of the box, directly from your frontend project, with no backend setup or deployment required.

I sometimes wonder if the world really needs another backend API in this new “vibe coding” era. But since everything can be done from the frontend, it also fits naturally with coding agents like Claude Code.

For now, I hope my APIs would help web devs skip the backend headaches and spend more time on the fun part like building the frontend.

People don't get convinced by your facts and logic. It's your compassion and perception by others that gets through.

If you're starting, you can hire some head hunters to do the job. Then make mistakes by hiring bad people so can you learn what to watch out for when hiring talent in each positions. You can ask what their ultimate goal is in their fields, ask them why they decided to leave their last job. Most importantly, see if they are compatible with your personality.

I would use it if it was free. And even if it was a payed service, It would be a 1 time thing so I don't see it as a good business model.

If I were to build the server myself I can setup my own ssh keys, ports.. etc on my linux machine. Whereas in AWS I find my self spending a whole day figuring out how to write aws roles for each resources, where to click to get somewhere... etc. So no. AWS is not developers friendly.

I am (or was) a professional music producer, had great carrier in my 20s ~ mid 30s. Also produced couple of national hit songs with famous singers (South Korea). Now I'm working on my own company as a CEO and lead server engineer. I can surely tell you, coding is more like an art than science. If you deeply know how to 'enjoy' good music, that, can also make you a good music producer as well. What makes a great music? is having a same lame solid pattern and structures over and over again but able to implement unusual unpredictable element at some points. And I believe that approach also applies when writing a good code as well.

I do sometimes. When it's a complex system that I'm building, I draw out some arrows and rough ideas of classes and functions.
