What about Japan? Aren't they doing ok? Sure there's issues with not enough people to look after the old folks but I haven't heard any rhetoric like we do in the Anglosphere. Demographic Apocalypse seems largely a scare tactic by neoliberal/neocons to distract from the real reason: Immigration is to suppress wage demands.

I know someone personally who was offered MAID because they didn't want to treat him. Happily in the end this person got the procedure done and they are alive.

Canada has become a brutal shit show. Homelessness is rampant everywhere.

Don't forget the visa immigrants. Students, special work permits like IT, refugees and illegals. It's 2+ Million a year.

Over 2 Million a year are coming in. Canada does not have infinite space. Most of the country is uninhabitable. It has a harsh climate. Most of the influx goes to two cities and their environs. Housing costs are the most expensive in the developed world.

Agreed. And what percentage of the employed workforce (that 67%) are in low wages jobs compared to 1972?

Neo Nazis in Russia? The Russians sacrificed millions fighting the Nazis.

It's the neo Nazis in Ukraine that tried to ban the Russian language and prevented Zhelensky from negotiating peace in the Donbass when first elected.

I'll assume you mean govt (public) debt to GDP ratio not private debt to GDP. I'm not sure if private debt to GDP has increased or not since 2008. I would guess it has if mortgages are counted.

The problem with QE is it drove up the price of land/housing as I think a lot of it ended up as mortgage loans. Rents rise with land price increases which affects businesses. It would've been better if the QE had gone to business loans not mortgages. But home ownership trumps more businesses when it comes to getting votes so no govt official is going to make a stink if too many loans go out to land asset acquisition vs creating small businesses.

And what about the Democrat Party standing with Netanyahu's war in Gaza. I'd say that's as abhorrent as as any Repugnant Party policies.

Both parties are fascist in different ways.

Compromise is paramount. The alternative is what u are seeing in Gaza.

There is no opposition party. Their policies are virtually the same.

What about all the QE printing post 2008 crisis? Didn't that have a lot to with the present house price inflation? Not all of course but shouldn't that QE printing share some of the inflation blame?

They built loads of condos in Vancouver which were only advertised for sale overseas in Asia. Residents in Canada weren't given a chance to purchase.

40% of Canadian Federal MPs are landlords.

And don't forget the usefulness of the UK for USA is now hovering just above nil. From an Establishment point of view David Cameron has got to be the Biggest Donkey in years! And what do the Tories do, they reward him.

The Brexiteers were naive. Anyone with half a brain wouldve known the elites would switch immigration from EU to third world which is exactly what they did post Brexit.

Ireland funds it's pension scheme via the taxes it collects from Apple et al.

If those corporations leave then Ireland loses a lot of tax revenue.

Instead Ireland should tax property speculators.

Yup, turning home into hotels should never have been allowed. Homes are for people not profit machines.

Renting out a room in a place u live in is all AirBnB should've been for.
