To a significant degree, you're mainly buying precisely that culture of "you're (we're, i.e. the students themselves reinforce the culture, which is vital) gonna prep for the SAT, do well in school, and so on, because you (we) are going to college, period, and... oh, you're not applying there, are you? No no no, my grandpa's name is on a building at [more presigious school], apply there, I'll talk to a couple people. Oh, and come volunteer at [charity] with me a couple weekends, looks great, my mom's on the board and can get you something that looks more important on an application than what most people do there. Do you have an internship for the Summer? We'll talk to my dad next time you're over playing xbox, probably can hook you up" when you pay (through housing costs) for top-end public schools, or mid-tier-and-higher private schools.

> Wow, only 30 days? That's very very low. REI and other stores here in the US offer up to a year no questions asked return policy.

30 minimum required by law. Not maximum.

It's also definitely been used on Twitch in exactly the way it was with those they "copied" it from. They cracked down on it, but there's only so much you can do with dress code policies et c. Considering there's more than a hint of this already all over Youtube without this feature, I hope their moderators are prepared for some long hours.

The stupid-money from spying-heavy web/mobile advertising is suppressing other business models that would be friendlier to smaller companies. Until it's gone (likely require a law—please oh please) we're (entrepreneurs and consumers alike) stuck with a handful of free-but-we-spy-on-you solutions, either provided by one of the big tech companies or soon-to-be acquired by them, and little else.

> Perfect Dark is still playable though.

Especially the version on the Xbox360, or, as I call it, "that big white box I own solely to play Perfect Dark on". A straight port with upgraded graphics, better framerate, modern controls, and (or perhaps this one I'm imagining) subtly rebalanced difficulty to account for those other changes. Nothing like that garbage trying-to-be-Call-of-Duty-and-failing-miserably Goldeneye reimagining a few years back.

Still unmatched in terms of gameplay options. Coop single player, versus(!) single player, the great multiplayer of course. The way the difficulty settings changed objectives and even starting location(!) in addition to damage values and AI. The fun "cheats" you unlock with speedruns. Brilliant game.
