It's not surprising that vim would have a simple two letter keystroke to stop the cube spinning.
The best part of the entire pointless effort.
Disagree. The bulleted “I use arch btw” at the bottom of the frequently asked questions is even more hilarious if you ask me.

Earl: Bob, why are you running that ancient software on your holocube?
Bob: I finally got my vim config file exactly the way I want it!

Has anybody used this a lot? I'm curious if it's something you can grow accustomed to, and if so, whether switching back to a normal editor will induce a strange sensation of the normal editor spinning in some way (similar to the Tetris effect.)
(I tried using it myself the last time it was posted, but it made me nauseous.)

Somebody fork it and make the cube rotate only when flipping between buffers
Kinda like the GameCube, I like it

I remember always being scared when that menu popped up, because the only times I ever saw it were when something was broken.
I'm sure there were good reasons to want to get to it, but I was too young to know any.

that would actually be cool. I could see it boosting productivity.
Compiz cube can already do this with your entire desktop circa 2006. I remember being quite delighted with it when I first installed Ubuntu but it was never very practical. I still miss wobbly windows though
I miss the old Aero Windows-Tab thing, that was neat
If this existed I would drive it daily
Couldn't handle it for more than 10 minutes
Your Vim has been crushed into a cube. You have 30 minutes to :q! your cube.
We need to get Vim³ running in SimulaVR: https://github.com/SimulaVR/Simula

Brilliant.
Brilliant.
Hi, I have a question about Vim and Bash.
If I type ":w[Enter]" and then quickly thereafter CTRL-Z, will my file be completely saved before Vim is suspended? Or can the suspend operation happen in the middle of the saving operation?

The latter, if you're unlucky. You may be interested to know that :suspend is a command.
Thanks. I guess it would be nice if CTRL+Z mapped to :suspend under the hood.
:map W :w!<Return>:suspend<Return>
This has no error handling and I don’t know how to make a new :command but it might hint you along to an answer.

Take your ctrl sequences and go back to Emacs ;-)
Heh heh. That’s why they call this “Hacker News.”
I got some vibes from Ubuntu Compiz.
Wow great Christmas present keep developing silly cubes.
maybe automatically switch from dark mode to light mode at sunrise in Uganda, and switch back at sunset?
but how do I close it
hell yeah
