This sounds like political correctness run amok. The initiatives referenced by the term "jedi" are already politically correct, in a good way. To quibble about a memorable acronym is not only silly, it reflects poorly on the publication that chose to print it.

This is a much better criticism of Star Wars and Disney than it is the use of JEDI as an acronym. The strongest point they make ahout that, in my opinion, is that the associations with Star Wars might be unnecessarily distracting. Everything else seems like a serious reach to me.

The way the nonsensical term "equity" is pushed down the general population's throat is impressive. We transitioned almost over night from "equality of opportunities" which was achieved a long time ago to "equality of outcome" with a new brand.
I used to think the concept of double-think was a bit far fetched, but here it is in action.

Trying to advance your political project by obsessing over terminology? Wookie mistake.
I’m old enough to remember when SA was a serious magazine.
Is this a parody?
I refuse to believe this is not a parody:
> toxically masculine approaches to conflict resolution [by] violent duels with phallic lightsabers
surely this cannot be a real reason we cannot use the easily memorable acronym JEDI to draw attention to an initiative ?
