Short summary article - https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/96599/bitcoin-internatio...
It's funny how these summaries always look for the most optimistic take. The headline says Bitcoin could become the currency for international trade. The quote down lower says Bitcoin could become a currency for international trade:
> "A focus on global reach and neutrality could see bitcoin become an international trade currency"
It's not clear why Bitcoin, specifically, would be the currency of choice for international trade when any number of stablecoin alternatives (other than Tether) seem far more suitable for actually exchanging money.
If PayPal announced a new international payment system that used shares of PayPal as the underlying currency for transfers, everyone would roll their eyes at the obvious ploy to confuse payments with currency with stock prices. Yet that's essentially what would happen if we used Bitcoin for international payments like this.
