I knew USA will get a crappy president after Apple released its crpppiest MacBook Pro. It was bound to happen. Good luck USA, you truly deserve him. We might check on you again in 4 years, if there's anything left.
Trump is vulgarity unbounded, a knowledge-free national leader who will not only set markets tumbling...
Markets are up about 2% since yesterday. I hope the author didn't go short!

The tragedy is that there is no America.
We are a squabbling collection of peoples with irreconcilable differences and fundamental values, no common history, no common faith, bound together under one increasingly arbitrary, self-interested and interventionist federal government.
Secession and peaceful separation would be ideal, but it is hard to see how that happens. I say that with a deep sympathy for everyone with strong feelings about their fundamental values.

> Hillary Clinton was a flawed candidate but a resilient, intelligent, and competent leader, who never overcame her image among millions of voters as untrustworthy and entitled.
She is untrustworthy and entitled, it's not just an image. I'm glad the people rejected her. She didn't deserve to win.
Trump has been out campaigning and holding rallies. Hillary spent most of her campaign hiding from the press.
Anyway, article flagged and hid. This is not r/politics.

>According to New York Times's Amy Chozick and Jonathan Martin, instead of holding rallies and giving interviews to the press, Hillary Clinton has packed her schedule with fundraising events that reportedly brought her $50 million in the last two weeks of August. She took part in some 22 events in the span of 14 days, pricing her time at some $150,000 per hour, fielding "hundreds of questions from the ultrarich in places like the Hamptons, Martha's Vineyard, Beverly Hills and Silicon Valley."

I thought the election was over? Unless you mean to tell me they actually believe their vitriol...
I'm not an American but I'm even more worried about what sort of ripple effects we might feel from Trump based on his rhetorics so far.
I just do not get the outcome, it seems to be an outright rejection of Clinton, based on the narrative from trump's camp not reflecting on reality, history & competence. It seems like an overly emotional and rash response to the perceived economic injustice which is ironic since Clinton's policies would be better aligned for those trump supporters.
In my personal opinion, I think that this could be the beginning of the end of American hegemony. Leaders around the world are going to be biting the insides of their cheeks when they realize what they are dealing with.
I doubt that 100% of what trump said will happen in office but still, can't be a good feeling.
You wanted another Reagan, you got it America.

I think it was a huge mistake for Trump's opponents to portray Trump voters generally as misogynistic, racist idiots. That made them close ranks.
If you were someone who was going to vote for trump out of frustration with the two-party system, or because you felt his protectionist policies would help you, or even because you felt his "make America great again" rhethoric resonated with you, you'd find yourself labeled a bigoted slimeball. What does that do to you? You don't see yourself that way, so clearly you don't deserve the mud-slinging Trump supporters are getting.
So as a Trump supporter, you find your personality being undeservedly attacked, and the attacks are much the same as Trump is receiving. Perhaps Trump is being just as unjustly misportrayed by the opposition as you are, as one of his supporters. What about the other Trump backers? Do the birthers have a point after all? The people attacking them are the same people attacking you, and they're clearly off their rocker! How deep does the rabbit hole go? Are the KKK really so bad these days, it's long time since the lynchings after all...
