You know whats equally evil to "attacking children"? Using children as a weapon. These kids should have stood up and spoken their minds. Thats all well and good. Using these kids to further finger point and create a more divisive world isn't okay. Lakoff's political agenda is a smear on an otherwise solid body of work.
Indeed. When you hold a child up as a political shield don't be surprised when it gets attacked.
The post may be right, or may be wrong, but I couldn’t get past how extremely divisive and polarising it was. It deliberately fosters an “us vs them” attitude and leaves no room for middle ground. It certainly wasn’t written to generate healthy debate
and written by a Professor Emeritus at Berkeley...
Parents might disagree with the conclusion "Parents Over Children" but my take on it is that a good bit of America has already been infantalized (e.g. What Do We Want? Something! When Do We Want It? NOW!) and it does not seem to have helped either policy or discourse.
