I already know this one will end up in court, thank god for the ACLU.
I'm glad we have SCOTUS available to smack down POTUS idiocy when necessary.
I'm sorry, but no. The POTUS does not have the authority to just randomly override the 14th Amendment. And the literal text of the 14th does not equivocate, not does it say anything about the status of your parents or anything else.
This is about as straightforward as it gets:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Regardless of what you think of Trump otherwise, it's clear that this is a blatant violation of the "separation of powers" concept and a violation of our democratic process. If we allow this to happen, I think it's time to start sounding the death knell for this country, because our slide into outright fascist totalitarianism will probably be unstoppable.

I suspect it's a scare to then do something less severe but legally feasible, like restricting green cards or change visa policy.
