The Google/Alphabet distinction is nit-picky, but the fact that the site may have intended to be used differently and is not even close to a public launch is surely the more important news.
The impression I got watching that was it was a dog-and-pony show, full of typical exaggerations and half truths. The site is the easy part.
It's an Alphabet company. For most Americans, that's the proper explanation.
Yeah the distinction between Alphabet and Google is a technicality for most people. What is dishonest is suggesting it’s ready for general use when in reality, they’re only testing it in the Bay Area for now.
