The end for Intel-compatible x86 apps on M1 Macs?

I think it's a bit too fast to disable Rosetta 2 on the ARM-based Macs. Plenty of software that can't run natively on these Macs or people (like me) aren't inclined to buy a new license for software they don't use frequently enough.
Personally, I think this would stop me from buying more ARM-based Macs in the short in the future.

Any clarification of “certain countries”?
Articles like this are exasperating. What legal problems!
