Ask HN: Who wants project feedback? (August 2021)

I'm working on 'SpookyLoop'. The goal is to make it easier to see progress on long-running jobs/renders while on the go. I use it frequently when I compute big simulations but would like to see if it's useful for other projects. It can compute the completion time with a time-prediction, plus or minus a risk margin, and you can also set it to send you a message if your process crashes.
The Mac menubar app is a little buggy but the code versions seem reliable so far.
working demo, totally free, no login required

I find the new TLDs extremely confusing so I'm making it easier for startups to get started with a good quality name (and a matching dotcom). Please check it out, and if you find something you like, use HN50 for 50 bucks off.

I like this general idea since a lot of times a product can succeed with just any name that is short, easy to remember, etc. I spent probably a full week coming up with and buying knotend.com (I have a top level comment if you have time to leave feedback) which I would have been happy to just pay a few hundred bucks for.
Im not sure how valuable the logo addition is. Logos seem more personal. I think I would have paid < 100 for a very simple/generic logo and icon pack for knotend that just stood as a placeholder for later when I needed a real logo.

I'm developing https://noisycamp.com, a platform to help musicians to find and book spaces to practice music. I'm also helping music studios by making it easier for them to manage their bookings.
My project is just on paper, but would like to get some feedback on the idea: https://loan-free-ed.neocities.org
Love the idea behind loan free education! Have considered similar ideas previously and worked a bit with Khan Academy.
At what stage is this project currently? Where do you need help and support?

> At what stage is this project currently?
The project is at an ideation stage. Did some research on the topic to write down the details of the project idea. Also, I have been talking to people to get feedback; and also have investigated what tech stack to use for the project.
> Where do you need help and support?
I am a software engineer. So I will be able to handle the tech side. I am looking for someone who is able to handle the non-tech side of a non-profit.

I've recently been working on the documentation tool I wish I had back when I was running my last SaaS tool - something that makes it quick and easy to create docs, as well as helps keep them up to date and improves discoverability.
I've got as far as a very simple proof of concept, the link below is to a quick survey, which includes a demo video of the app working:

Cool idea. Have you thought about the ability to export to a PDF?
No but I guess I could. What would you use the pdf for, as opposed to say taking a screenshot to get a png? Would you want the canvas layout rendered on a pdf (the one you get when doing View -> Canvas) or something else?
Who is your target audience? I have never worked in a large company, but I wouldn't be surprised if a flow chart generator is something large companies would use.
Just anyone making flowcharts. Large cos often have to coordinate lots of people, so flowcharts can help. My main use case is for project mgmt and roadmapping.
PDF is portable. It's uses are legion because it is standalone.
PNG is also portable of course, but it is always embedded in something else. Outside of the tech bubble it is going to be a "what-is-a-png?" for the average person.
Everyone everywhere (to a first approximation) can handle a PDF as a document. PNG as a document is problematic for a vast number of people.
Though my first choice would be jpg. Everyone knows how to use them and they can be embedded in other documents easily.

For a large audience, I would also consider jpg, doc, and/or tif. With jpg being my first choice over pdf since jpg is easily embedded in other documents.
My project is an e-commerce image editing solution with a focus on ML/CV automation

Your website makes it clear what the product does. I'm not a huge fan of the name, I don't see a reason to shoehorn "AI" into the name at the cost of it being hard to pronounce and remember.
Looks like you need a login to try it, and I don't really have a need for image editing.
I'm not sure if users care or not that the system is built on machine learning models. Maybe a quick note if it here and there is good because it helps them understand that there's something 'smart' about it, but I wouldn't put sentences like this:
> built upon self-aware machine learning models
That just feels over the top and probably confusing to users.
Please see my top level comment for knotend.com and leave feedback.

Really makes me happy seeing skeuomorphic design
it's actually neumorphic and not skeuomorphic
I am working on https://www.usertrack.net a self-hosted analytics platform. There is a link to a live demo on the website you can try and also a free trial that doesn't require any personal information.
Would love to hear any feedback regarding the platform, the landing page or the pricing strategy!

I bought and use usertrack.
Your landing page is not perfect aesthetically. It makes it feel genuine and that's what convinced me to try your product.
You have a great page and product. I'm jealous of your project. Please continue what you're doing!

Thanks a lot for the kind words!
I do plan on continuing, I have many good ideas to improve the project even further. I want to try some new unique UX features for the dashboard UI to make data filtering and visualisation even easier.
I feel like I still haven't found the perfect pricing model and target audience, but I'm getting close!

I'm building Blocktimize, which lets you launch dApps faster and monitor them. You can check it out here:

This is probably mostly relevant for blockchain devs, but would love feedback.

Cool name. I don't do blockchain dev but I guess I can see why people would need some kind of integration between onchain stuff and analytics/logging platforms.
The website is really light on informatin. I would expect an api/integration provider to have things like code samples or UI examples, not to have to schedule a demo. Even having a little info graphic showing the steps needed to setup the integration (before needing to make an account) would go a long way.
My project is https://www.knotend.com if you have a sec, I have a top level comment here.

Thanks. I'm in the process of writing the documentation, especially for the webhooks format.
Hi HN, I'm working on a free tool to check out on where your competition has launched and how they performed. It's still in development but I would genuinely love your feedback.

Im building multiple apps under the https://tinytiny.app name. Nothing commercial. None fully live yet but I’d love it if anyone could follow along and provide feedback. My email is in my profile.
Just a heads up: there are already "tiny-tiny" apps:

Post a comment with instructions on how we can try your project. Be nice and try out other posters projects and leave feedback on their comment (especially if they tried your demo).
Please post links to working software that people can demo for free.
If you dont have a project but want to just give feedback thats also great.
