Gruber has now spent about a week of writing fuming articles going after Chen because he dared to say the iPhone 13 feels like an incremental update. It's almost creepy how he tries to erase that (pretty harmless) criticism, and even for Gruber it seems too petulant.
Gruber will always be an de-facto Apple employee, and therefore never be a trustful source on Apple, but it seems in his older age now he has lost the ability to hold himself back thereby creating a big "tell".
It’s interesting he mentioned the iPhone 6. I have one in a drawer at home and every time I pick it up it seems a sleeker, lighter, more advanced piece of technology than my 12. I hope the trend reverses and we go back to lighter and thinner phones.
I’m still confused as to which iPhone the cool one is
The one that’s not Android I think ;)
So according to their comparison of video between the 12 pro max and the 13 pro max.. you see battery life for video playback go from 20 hours of playback to 28 hours of playback but streamed video playback go from 12 hours to 25 hours of playback. This is telling me that the idle battery drain issue was real and due to that snazzy new 5G cellular modem. It doesn't even help if you turn 5G off.

> The two ways that Apple could best improve the day-to-day utility of using an iPhone are improving the camera system and improving battery life.
Touch ID!!
> The adaptive nature of ProMotion means that not only does it not hurt battery life, like the less sophisticated high refresh rate features on Android phones, but it actually helps extend battery life for common tasks like watching video or reading text. Yes, the iPhone is late to the high refresh rate game, but as is often the case with Apple, it was worth waiting for.
As usual, Apple fanboy don't research much. Samsung and other manufacturers offer variable refresh rate at least in 2020.
