Makes sense for the US market, where every device already comes with SSDs. But that's not as common in other countries.
Try running windows from a HDD; it’s painful
* For my usage, an SSD between 256 and 512 gig is plenty. That enables a very-cut-down Windows system (say 100 gig in total), then a swap partition that's RAM-sized, then three sets of Linux root partitions, and a minimal home directory.
The ginormous HDD(s) archive takes care of all the rest: videos, photos, music, software archives, data archives, etc, etc. You know, all that write-once, keep-forever stuff.
